RU Hosts FFH High School Meet Radford U. Press Release Apr 05, 2007

Radford University will be hosting the fifth annual Faster, Farther, Higher High School track meet this weekend on Friday and Saturday at Patrick D. Cupp Memorial Stadium. Teams competing this year will consist of: Bassett, Blacksburg, Brookville, Cave Spring, Christiansburg, Dunbar, Franklin County, Giles, Glenvar, Grayson County, Henrico, James River (Buchanan), Jefferson Forest, Lord Botetourt, Middlesex, Northumberland, Pulaski County, Radford, Salem, Staunton River, West Johnston and Wilson (Pa.).

The Highlanders conclude the Charlotte 49ers Classic with six top-five finishes on the day from Irwin Belk Stadium. The Highlanders also set two school records. Senior sprinter Maurika Quarles (Manassas, Va.) crossed the finish line in a time of 1:01.33 to place fourth in the 400 meter hurdles. Her time qualified her for the NCAA Regional Meet.

adford University men placed eighth and the women seventh at the 2004 New Balance Big South Cross Country Championships Saturday in Rock Hill, S.C. The High Point men and Coastal Carolina women captured the Big South titles. The Panthers won the men's title for the third-straight year, while the Lady Chanticleers took their fourth-straight Championship crown, which set a Conference record.
