What division are looking at? What gender? Pretty broad topic. Your team, Socastee, is not a real big surprise in 3A considering their times and success last season. Your guys appear to be peaking at the right time.

Northwestern boys look good, they got 7 under or right at 17. Lancaster girls also are looking strong, being led by a 12 year old! watch out for her!

Chapin girls and guys team have been improving dramatically over the season. With two national elite girls running and two close to it, the girls team are going to be fierce competition at state. The guys team, who where not expected to win their region, won by 19 points. With all of the top four guys close to being sub 18 before state, along with the fifth being at a 18:34, the predictions might just need to be readjusted.

Chapin's girls are not really an unexpected team. They have been running solid all season and have recently made some big jumps. It will be interesting to see Chapin, Eastside, James Island, and Hilton Head go at it at state. All have solid line-ups that could take the title. Chapin's boys, while making great progress, look a lot like several other teams. The following teams have the potential to have 5 under 18 by state based on current times: Blue Ridge, Socastee, Travelers Rest, James Island, Greenville, Darlington, and Chapin. Daniel and Hilton Head are in a different league from the rest of 3A at this point with Eastside nipping at their heels. Daniel and Hilton Head's front runners being what separates them from the rest of the pack. The question however is who among the 4-10 teams is the biggest surprise this season.

Look for a minimum of three teams from Chesterfield and Darlington counties to finish in the top ten in their respective classifications at the SCHSL state championships on November 3.
