Many of you now find yourselves nearing the end of your season.  These last few races can make or break your season or career.  Now that can seem like a scary thing, but I'm here to remind you that it is not scary, in fact it's beautiful!  

A new track and field oval at Weems Baskin Track and an upgraded USC Field House that will feature a new six-lane 200-meter fixed bank track with seating.

Meet is Saturday at Heathwood Hall in Columbia. 

Longtime coach Jim Kilbreth was honored Saturday during the Low Country Tri-County Meet of Champions during a surprise ceremony where meet directors named the boys 4x800-meter relay after him.

When the SCISA state track meet ends on May 3 at Heathwood Hall in Columbia, the Cyclones will have their first coaching change in 15 years. Hugh Knight, the Cyclones’ head cross-country coach since 2003, will take over the track and field team, as well.

Porter Gaud's Brent Demarest ran a new personal best of 8 minutes, 29 seconds in the 3,000-meter Penn Relays championship event Friday night in Philadelphia. 

Bob Jenkins, the legendary track and field and cross country coach at many area schools, was remembered fondly by coaches and athletes at the countywide track meet named in his honor on Thursday. (via www.heraldonline.com)
