Entries:     Entry Deadline:  Sunday, May 19, 2019 @ 11:59 PM.

All entries must be submitted on-line at SCRunners.com prior to the entry deadline of 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 19, 2019.  Please make sure that you have gone on the site and understand how to do your teams entries well in advance of the entry deadline.  There are multiple divisions for each event for this meet. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU PUT YOUR ATHLETES IN THE CORRECT DIVISION. Youth 1st- 2nd grade, Youth 3rd- 6th grade, Homeschool MS and Homeschool HS.  

Entry Fee: An entry fee of $10 per athlete, up to $100 per team will be charged up to a maximum of $200 per school/organization.  Make checks payable to Upstate Bearcats and bring it with you to packet pick-up. This entry fee must be paid before your team is allowed to participate.  If your team is entered into the meet, you are required to pay the entry fee.

Entry Restrictions:  Each team may enter up to 5 athletes per individual event and 1 relay team per relay event.  Each athlete can compete in 4 events total (including relays).

Packet pick-up:  3:00 PM - 6:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Upward Star Center

and 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the press box at the John Carlisle Stadium - Ed Boehmke Track & Field Facility.     

Divisions: There will be Homeschool Division(s) and Youth Division(s) for most events.    

Homeschool Division:  7th grade - 12th grade

There will be a MS division (7th - 8th grade) and HS division (9th - 12th grade) for Homeschool entries.  

If an athlete is homeschooled and runs for a non-homeschool team, they must enter the homeschool meet as unattached OR they may enter the youth meet as a member of their youth team.  

Youth Division: 1st - 6th grade

Results and awards will be separate for each division.

Awards: Awards will be given to the top three places in each individual event and to the members of each of the top 3 relay teams in the relay events.  Event awards will be given to athletes in a ceremony on the awards stand shortly after the conclusion of each event.

Bus Parking:  Bus parking will be at the football stadium/tennis court, off Kimbrell Road. Please do not park buses in the front parking lot. Park along the curbs on the right. Please pull as far forward as possible all the way into the exit lane at Kimbrell Road (see map). Spectators may park in any lot.

Spectator Parking:  Free spectator parking will be available at the facility in the east and west lots and in front of Eastside HS.

Track Facility Admission: Athletes in their team uniform may enter the track and field facility free of charge.  Coaches, please enter with your team or have your coaches pass. There will be a $5 admission fee for all spectators age 6 and up.  $25 maximum per immediate family.

Meet Notes:

  • All athletes must have their number pinned to the front of their uniform top during competition.

  • Spikes will be checked!  Please ensure that or less inch pyramid spikes ONLY allowed on the track and jumping surfaces.

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd (final) calls will be made prior to each event.

  • All runners must report to the check-in (clerking) area prior to the final call in each event that they are entered in.  

  • Four attempts in throws and horizontal jumps.  Final standings will be calculated from these attempts.

  • Sexes within a division may be mixed for the sake of time.

  • The infield of the track is off limits for any warm-ups.

  • Athletes can warm-up on the practice fields behind the stadium

  • Be aware of the discus and javelin throwing areas.

  • Please stay off the baseball and softball fields.

  • No tents in the home stands. Tents can be placed in the visitor stands, behind the visitor stands or on the top of the hill near the weight room.

  • Entrance to the track will be on the back side near the end of the first curve and at the end of the back straight near the bathrooms.

  • Gates on homestretch will be for athletes leaving the track only.  

  • A certified Athletic Trainer will be on hand.

  • A concessions stand run by Eastside will be serving a variety of snacks, drinks, candy, Chick-fil-A sandwiches, etc. and will be open during the event.

  • All results will be available after the conclusion of the meet.

Tentative Event/Time Schedule

All events will be run on a rolling schedule.  

The field events will start at 9:00 AM and the running events will start at 9:30 AM.

Order of Events - BEARCAT CLASSIC

8:15 AM Coaches Meeting at Finish Line

8:15 AM Track Open for Warm-ups

9:15 AM Track and infield closes

Field events order:

Youth Division followed by HomeSchool Division

  • Four attempts in throws and horizontal jumps.  Final standings will be calculated from these attempts.

9:00 AM Boys Shot (3rd grade and up; Girls to follow completion of boys event)

9:00 AM Boys Pole Vault (7th grade and up; Girls to follow completion of boys event)

9:00 AM Boys Long Jump (All grades; Girls to follow completion of boys event)

9:00 AM Girls Discus (7th grade and up; Boys to follow completion of girls event)

9:00 AM Girls High Jump  (7th grade and up; Boys to follow completion of girls event)

9:00 AM Girls Triple Jump (7th grade and up; Boys to follow completion of girls event)

***If enough entries are received, the Boys and Girls Javelin (7th grade and up) will follow the completion of the Discus.
