Registration is now closed to additional teams now that 10 teams have registered.
Schedule: (every effort will be made to start each race on time)
9:00 AM--Varsity Girls (7 runner/team maximum)
9:30 AM--Varsity Boys (7 runner/team maximum)
10:00 AM--JV Co-ed (unlimited entry)
The JV race will utilize a wave-start where 4 runners from each team will start every 5 minutes. Coaches will seed the start times to place the fastest runners in the earliest waves. Finish times will be corrected for each runner based on the actual wave start time.
This is the 2nd annual Dixie Headwaters Invitational. In our inaugural year we had 7 schools compete (Aiken, Crescent, Dixie, Fox Creek, Laurens, Ware Shoals and Westside). We will cap the event at 10 teams in 2020. This is a true cross country course (spike-friendly with no asphalt or concrete) at the headwaters of Long Cane Creek in Donalds, SC. The course has a total elevation change of 70 ft and involves sections on grass as well as woodlands. The course map can be downloaded here. Spectator parking will be at the Donalds Church of God (335 W Main St, Donalds SC) with entrance to the course behind the Church. Bus parking will be at 273 W Main St. (Buses will park on the south edge of the Lou & Perry's II Restaurant parking lot). Additional spectator parking will be available at 175 County Rd S-1-156 (the former location of Lighthouse Christian Academy). That overflow parking area will access the course around the 1/4 mile mark on the race course.
Spectator admission will be $3.
We are grateful to Lou & Perry's II Restaurant and the Donalds Church of God for graciously allowing the use of their parking lots for the race. Spectators are asked to NOT park in the Lou & Perry's Lot during the race to allow parking for restaurant patrons.
