Terrier Track Teams Compete at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – The Terrier track teams turned in three school record performances at the 2010 Duke Invitational.

Senior Bryan Brooks led the men’s team, running the 10,000 meter event in a school record time of 33:01.79 and finishing 11th in the event.

Junior Andy Vess turned in another solid performance in the javelin throw, recording a distance of 52.92 meters and finishing seventh in the event.

On the women’s side, freshman Shelby Harris paced the team with a top-ten performance in the 10,000 meter run. Harris placed seventh with a school and freshman record time of 39:04.82, beating the previous record set in 2007 by more than a minute and a half.

Freshman Andrea Kelsey also recorded a school and freshman record in the 5000 meter run, finishing with a time of 18:34.08.

The Terrier track teams will compete again on Saturday, April 10 at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C.
