  • Porter Gaud is going for their fourth consecutive boys team title. Look for Hammond School and Pinewood Prep to be near the front.
  • Porter Gaud’s Brent Demarest is going for his fourth consecutive individual title. The state record of 15:16, set by Graham Tribble, may be broken this weekend at the course where Tribble set it.
  • Heathwood Hall’s 2012 boys win was the first for the team since 2000.
  • Spartanburg Christian girls have won the last eight Class AA titles.
  • Spartanburg Christian’s Logan Morris will aim for her fifth straight Class AA individual title.
  • SCA’s Madison Seay has been state runner-up for the past three seasons.
  • Hammond School girls won title from 1998-2007.
  • Trinity Christian boys won five consecutive titles. Four of the titles was when Class A and AA were combined. Last year the team won the Class A title. This year they are in Class AA. Spartanburg Day won Class AA last year.
  • In Class AAA girls look for a battle between Pinewood Prep and Heathwood Hall, both team and individual. The individual race may come down to Pinewood Prep’s Maryah Nasir and Heathwood Hall’s Sydney Ellen.
