Porter Gaud's Brent Demarest ran a meet best time of 15 minutes, 45 seconds at the SCISA Championships. Spartanburg Christian's Logan Morris had the top female time of 18 minutes, 20 seconds. 

One week remains in the high school season as teams compete for spots at the state meet next weekend.

Fort Mill’s Meredith Kilburn has been on a nice roll this month in cross county competition. The senior has placed first in three of four races she has competed in on the state high school circuit, a run that should give her momentum heading into the state championships Nov. 5 in Columbia.

Spartanburg Christian girls are the favorite to win the SCISA Class A-AA team competition, with help from top runner Logan Morris. 

Trinity Collegate boys are ahead in the SCISA A-AA virtual meet over Spartanburg Day School to win the team competition Saturday at Heathwood Hall in Columbia. 

Porter Gaud boys are favored to win the SCISA AAA meet with an almost perfect 18 points, according to a virtual meet. 

Led by Brook Grice and Sydney Allen, Heathwood Hill girls are the top Class AAA girls SCISA team going into this weekend's state meet on the team's home course. 

The College of Charleston is set to host the 2011 Southern Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships at the Trophy Lakes course in Charleston on Saturday.

The Tigers will play host to the ACC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Musser Farms course. It will be the first time since 2001 that Clemson has held the ACC's cross country championship meet, and it will also be the first time the event will be held at Clemson's new course. The men's 8,000-meter race will begin at 10 a.m., followed by the women's 6,000-meter competition at 11:00. The awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the women's race.
