Price-Whitehead Gets Near PRs At VA Beach Opener

Jaden Price-Whitehead picked up right where he left off last winter in his season debut at the Virginia Beach Club Opener. The Upper Dublin senior picked up a pair of wins on the runway at the brand new facility in Virginia and closed in on his own personal bests.

Price-Whitehead, who committed to the University of South Carolina earlier this year, leapt 24-10.75 to win the long jump and 47-9 to win the triple jump. Both of those jumps are mere inches off his own PRs and the calendar has only just flipped over the December.

His 24-10.75 in the long jump is just 1.25 inches off his best that he set last year at the TFCAofGP Meet of Champions of 25 feet, a performance that ranks him at PA No. 2 all-time.

In the triple jump, Price-Whitehead's leap of 47-9 is also 1.25 inches off his best of 47-10.25, which he threw down at the Burdette Classic last winter.

It's a terrific start for Price-Whitehead, who is expected to be among the nation's top jumpers this season, as he was last season. The strong start to his senior season shows that the senior hasn't lost a beat since last year before the pandemic shut down the season.
