Coaches Classic and State Meet Site Changes

At the request of Ft. Jackson, because of damage done during a tornado, the 2004 Coaches Classic and State Championships will be run at the Clemson Sandhills Research Park in Columbia. This is the same site as the Classic and State Meets were held in 2001 and 2002.

"The Fort Jackson garrison commander, Col. Eddie Stephens, has determined the field to be unsafe for activities due to storm damage to the bleachers and power lines," said Jim Hinnant, deputy public affairs officer. "The field will be refurbished in the near future, and once the work is complete, will again be available for great events like the Coaches' Classic. The Army and Fort Jackson are part of the mid-state community and enjoy our relationship with our neighbors. We want to provide appropriate support to important events and activities when we can".
