Landon Gibbs, Ada Mere Win Performer Of The Week!

HUNTINGTON'S LANDON GIBBS WAS ALL SMILES AFTER HIS PR AT THE RAIDER RELAYS!

Congratulations to Huntington high jumper Landon Gibbs and Episcopal distance runner Ada Mere. They are this week's MileSplit LA Performers Of The Week. Both Gibbs and Mere will advance to compete for MileSplit LA Outdoor Athlete Of The Year at the end of the season.

Gibbs won the boys' poll this week with over 21,000 votes (6.1.6%). ARCA hurdler Finn Galyean was second with 7,112 votes (20.8%). 

Mere won the girls' poll with 366 votes (34%). Brusly's Aaryona Kinchen was second with 246 votes (22.8%). 

Both Gibbs and Mere are not only two of the best in Louisiana at their craft, but they are also two of the best in the nation. Gibbs is tied with three other jumpers at No. 8 in the nation among sophomore boys with his best of 6-7 at the Raider Relays

Mere has a personal best of 5:14 in the 1600m at the Josten's Invitational. That time ranks No. 9 in all classes this season in Louisiana high school competition. Nationally, Mere ranks No. 8 among all eighth-grade girls.
