Jordan Geist after record throw


COLUMBIA, SC - Knoch Senior and shot put stud Jordan Geist came down to South Carolina to get in some early season competition in at the Bojangles Track and Field Classic. The Arizona commit took part in the Friday Night Thunder shot put competition and took the win throwing a meet record 74'10.25". The mark is also a current US No. 2 only behind Adrian Piperi of The Woodlands (TX). 
 
The mark breaks the old meet record of 63'7" set back in 1997 by 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Reese Hoffa. Geist will be throwing again today in the discus and will look to claim another meet record. 
The current record of 190'10" was set in 2011 by Justin Osking of Florida. Geist's current PR is
