Kurtis Steck wins Raleigh Relays in 9:08 3200! Fortner 2nd in girls at 10:36!
It was certainly a Good Friday for Virginian distance runners at the Raleigh Relays in the elite invitational 3200 meter high school races held in the midst of the big college meet at NC State University. Lafayette senior Kurtis Steck had an incredible race to run a personal best 3200 meter time by 12 seconds to win a loaded race with many of North Carolina's best distance runners in a time of 9:08.49.

- 100 Meter Dash - Chelsea Johnson of Wilson took it home in 12.05 (her best of the year) with Jena Alston of Blythewood on her heels in 12.11. They were followed by Maria Johnson of Dreher (12.14)
- 200 Meter Dash - Brianna Pressley of Westwood sprinted 24.91 for the victory
- 800 Meter Run - Great race for Imani Boatwright of Lower Richland who won in 2:19.22
- Long Jump - Jasmine Quinn of Fort Dorchester hit the sand at 18-5 to win (new season best mark), followed by: Jazmine Manning of Dreher (17-10), Ars'Breana Tyler of Sumter (17-8)
- Shot Put - Jai Lykes of Westwood launched it 41-2 to earn the top spot on the podium, followed by: Ashley Wingo of Mallard Creek (37-4)
