Eastside Hosts Meet In Memory of Track Athlete

Kevin Logan, a graduate of Eastside in Taylors, passed away Sept. 11, 2005 with his brother George Simpson, in a car accident close to their home.

Logan was 19-years old and Simpson was 18.

As many have memories today with 9/11 something also hit the Eastside community on this day last year.

Logan always said "That's what I'm talking about." His quote is printed on the Eastside 2006 track and field shirts.

Logan worked hard day in and down out in school and track and field. He always informed coaches of conflicts with practice and wanted everyone on the team to achieve their best.

Logan and his brother George were killed one year ago today in a car accident early that Sunday morning.

In memory of Kevin - The Best Eastside Eagle - always was dedicated and supporting others and never gave up.

At the funeral last year it was shown how much the two impacted the Eastside HS community. The church was filled with family members, Eastside students, student-athletes, coaches, alumni and friends.

Eastside is now hosting a junior varsity track and field meet in his name each spring.

Never forget.

Best of luck to everyone this cross country and track and field season in 2007.

See you on the course.
