How often does your number five runner change?
Last year although our 1-5 split was about 2:30, we saw our number five runner change about 50-percent of the time.

How do you prepare the number five runner for each race?
By reminding her that our sport really is a “team” sport and that she can make a huge difference in the overall outcome of a meet.

What value is the number five runner on your team?
Our number five runner is hugely important to our team. We want her to push number four and decrease the gap between number one and number five. Our success last year was in large part due to the improvement of the number five runner over the previous year.
