Baylor University graduate Kyle King joined the Furman Elite Mile field, director Mickey McCauley announced Tuesday morning.
"Kyle King is a Baylor University graduate and runs for Zap Fitness," said McCauley. "In 2006 Kyle ran 3:42.2 for 1500 meters. Last month he ran 7:55.5 for
3,000 meters (indoors) and February 9 won the Tyson 5,000 (indoors) in 13:44.84. This weekend he will compete in the USATF National Indoor Championships in the 3000-meters.
Several of our milers will compete this weekend in the Indoor Championships (ESPN2 4-6 Sunday). We have nine commitments as of today."
The Elite Mile, part of the Furman Invitational and "Track Extravaganza" weekend is scheduled for April 7.
