Sumter Optimist Relays director Diane Raabe announced today the meet has been canceled, scheduled for Saturday, the first weekend of outdoor track and field in South Carolina.
"I have never had less then 16 teams," said Raabe. "As of Monday I had three confirmed with payments, then on Tuesday I got three more without payment and today I had one e-mail me for information. So eight teams, but only three had paid with entries."
West Ashley High School is hosting the second annual Sandlapper Classic Saturday.
