What are your goals for the upcoming season?
My main goal for this season is to go sub-60 seconds in the 400 hurdles. That's my main focus this year, basically trying to perfect every little aspect of my form for hurdles. Other goals that I have set are to break the 100, 200, and 400 school records, and also for the girls team to win state.

How is winter training going?
Winter training is going really well. I've noticed that I have been hitting below my times in practice consistently and that seems like a good sign to me.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?
This will be my sixth year running. I got started oddly enough because for years I would always tell my mom that I felt like I wasn't good at anything. All of my friends had a talent and I didn't. One day, someone came into my mom's job and asked her to bring me to a track meet at West Ashley to see if I had any interest in it. Needless to say, I was very interested.

Do you have a specific motivation?
My realistic motivation is to have college paid for. Paying for college is one worry I wish not to have. Other motivations would be for my mom and for all the people that have supported me along the way.

Will you be competing out of state this season?
I plan on competing out of state for the summer season. At this moment, I'm unaware of what meets will pop up this season.

What do you enjoy about the Summerville team?
I love the chemistry we have. We all get along so well together. Practice is fun when you're surrounded by great people.

Do you have a pre-race tradition?
I don't necessarily have a pre-race tradition. I have more of a pre-block tradition. I do the same thing before I get into blocks before every race. One thing that happens every meet is that I don't like for people to talk to me before my race. I like to be left alone because I'm trying to get into my zone.

What race strategy works best for you?
I just run my race. I worry about myself when I run.

What has been your biggest challenge in the sport? How did you overcome the challenge?
My biggest challenge would have to be believing in myself. I doubt my capabilities and it proves to be more detrimental than beneficial. It is something I'm still currently working on.

What (so far) is your favorite race in your high school career?
My favorite race so far has most definitely been 2015 state championships. It was my first time winning state and it was an unforgettable day.

Favorite running memory?
My favorite running memory would have to be right after I ran my 400 hurdles at state and my best friend, Braylon, ran right up to the track and gave me the biggest hug.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?
I love love love to eat.

Favorite quote?
"Only make moves when your heart's in it, and live the phrase, Sky's The Limit" -The Notorious BIG

If there is one thing you could do in the world what would it be and why?
I would visit every country and try their food because I would love to be exposed to their culture.
