It has been brought to our attention that Coach Frank Kleckner passed away today due to a car accident on the way to school this morning. Frank coached at Southside Christian High School where he earned multiple state track and field championships. Frank was in a transition state, about to make a move to Woodruff High School for next school year.

"I had the opportunity to work with Frank this spring. He wanted his athletes to have the best opportunity to win and he was not afraid to seek assistance to achieve his goals," said Eric Cummings, SCTCCCA president and head Riverside coach.

Frank was always volunteering to work at meets and would step in when you were short workers. He will be missed his family, athletes, and fellow coaches. They will all be in our prayers.

Greer Middle College runner
Morgan Summey remembered Kleckner in a post on social media:
"It's amazing how close a sport can bring people together. I am so blessed to have met Coach Kleckner through cross country and I still can't believe he is gone. Thank you for all the jokes and laughs on meet days, Coach. I'm really going to miss them all. Rest in peace. Prayers for your family."
