Liam Christensen (Academic Magnet) and Desmond Ledell (River Bluff) won their respective events on day two of New Balance Nationals in Greensboro. The meet concludes Saturday.
Christensen, a Stanford signee, won the boys championship javelin with a best of 228 feet, breaking his past national top ranking. Christensen is in the top-10 MileSplit ranking list for all-time. Cade Antonucci of New Jersey was second with a best of 217 feet, nine inches.
Christensen also won the event in 2016 and was fifth in 2015.
