Auburn freshman Marcus Rowland (Dorman) had an up-and-down day, according to auburntigers.com at the mideast region meet in Louisville, Ky.

He qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 200-meters and as part of the 4x100-meter relay, but was disqualified from the 100-meters for a false start, making him ineligible for the NCAA Championships in that event even though he entered the meet ranked tied for fourth in the nation.

Stanford junior Kate Niehaus (Spring Valley) finished sixth in the women's 5,000-meter west region meet in 16 minutes, 30.64 seconds. GoStanford.com mentioned in their press release on Friday Niehaus may have a chance to receive an at-large bid. At-large bids are announced Tuesday.

University of South Carolina sophomore LaKya Brookins (Seneca) won her heat in the women's 100-meter dash preliminaries Friday in 11.48 seconds. The former Bobcat qualified for today's finals.

Clemson redshirt sophomore Miller Moss (Wilson Hall), who did not qualify for the east region meet, should be extended an at-large bid in the decathlon at nationals, according to clemsontigers.com. Moss recorded a provisional qualifying total of 7,323 points at the Deacon Combined Events meet earlier this month.

The championships will take place in Fayetteville, Ark. from June 10-13.
