Heathwood Hall, located in Columbia is hosting the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) State Track and Field Meet Saturday.
The meet opens up Saturday at 10 a.m. with the girls high jump, girls long jump, boys triple jump, boys shot put, girls discus and boys pole vault. The first running event, the girls 3200-meter run starts at 10:15 a.m. The boys 3200 is slated to start at 10:45 a.m.

May 1 is also a big day for public schools as state qualifier meets are scheduled. The SCSDB is hosting the A Upper-State Qualifier. Johnsonville is hosting the A Lower-State Qualifier at Coastal Carolina University. Emerald is hosting the 2A Upper-State Qualifier and Cheraw is hosting the 2A Lower-State Qualifier. Lower Richland is the host site of the 3A State Qualifier. Sumter is hosting the 4A State Qualifier.
