What does it mean to be named to the Shrine Bowl Run team and helping the hospital?
It's an honor to be selected as apart of this team. I am proud to my part to help such a generous organization, I am very excited to participate in this run!

What did you hear about the Shrine Bowl Run before this year?
I have always heard that the Shrine Bowl Run was fun to participate in, along with the hospital tour and field recognition.  I feel it is such an honor to be selected for.

What do you hope to experience during The Run?
A sense of pride knowing I'm representing the Shriner's Hospital and what the Shriners stand for.

How are you preparing to run with a football?
I have imagined the Shrine Bowl Run day in my head as I run and have started to adjust my arm as if I am carrying the ball.

How would you rate your senior season?
Personally 7/10 but as a team 10/10 (I had surgery on both feet at the end of my junior season, recovery was intense).

What future goals do you have?
I am applying with different colleges now. My hope is to run at the collegiate level while I attend a 4-year college

Have you made the decision to compete at the next level? Please explain.
I am applying and talking to coaches currently.

How did you get involved with the sport and when?
I started running in seventh grade.  In the sixth grade, at recess, cross country Coach Jerry Kimbrell invited me to come to a practice.  I went the first day of practice and immediately fell in love with the sport and the team! I have been running, since.

Do you have any relation or know someone that has attended the Shriners Hospital?
Yes, children of family friends have been treated by Shriner's Hospital and they are so excited that I am running as a member of the team.

How have you seen the sport change in the state? Please explain.
Cross country has become more competitive over the years I have been competing. And it seems the bar is continually raised, runners seem to continue to get faster.

What was your motivation for your final XC season?
After surgery, I had much to motivate me.  I needed to get back to my times of the previous season, but my eyes were on the BIG PRIZE and that was to win the state championship as a team. It has been a big goal of ours for many years.  Because it was my senior year, maybe it an even bigger target.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?
I would love to have just one more year to compete as a Dorman high school runner, we are like family.  I am truly going to miss the team, Coach Kimbrell and Coach Collins, and the program as a whole.   I'm thankful for my years on the team as a Lady Cavalier.
