Rising USC Gamecock sophomores Ronnetta Alexander and Stephanie Smith competed at the World Junior Track and Field Championships from July 12-18 in Grosseto, Italy. Alexander won the 100m hurdles final in 13.28. Smith was a member of the new world junior 4x400m relay record team, running the third leg.
The team came across the line with a combined time of 3:27.60. The 4x400 relay record was held for the past 16 years by Germany.
