All American Track Classic organizers announced Wednesday night U20 400-meter hurdles champion Akala Garrett of North Carolina has entered the April 7-8 meet in Columbia at Spring Valley.
Earlier this week it was announced North Carolina's girls national record holders Cuthbertson is entered the 4x800-meter relay.
"All American Track (Classic) staff is excited to have Akala Garrett from Ablemarle (N.C.) competing in our meet," said Paul Lockwood, the meet's director of social media to MileSplit SC Wednesday night. "Akala is seeded faster than our current meet record which is held by Olympian Anna Cockrell. Akala is the second U20 world athlete to enter the All American Track & Field Classic. Killian Fahy of Cuthbertson (N.C.) is a member of the Irish National Team. (The) second weekend in April is shaping up to be one of our best meets."

National Record Holders Cuthbertson to Run All-American 4x8
Garrett finished the indoor season with the top time of 7.88 in the 55-meter hurdles for the state and third in the nation.
Garrett has a 56.16 best in the 400 hurdles - set during the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships.
