Academic Magnet coach Brian Johnson passed away Monday, his family announced Tuesday morning on social media.
MileSplit SC will update this article as information is made available.
Coach (Brian) Johnson was my first coach at Charleston Southern. Though our time together was short, the impact he had on my life was lasting. He saw something in me that I hadn't yet seen in myself and encouraged me to pursue coaching track and cross country. He believed in me and fought to open doors that shaped the path I walk today.
I will never forget the respect I had for him or how much I valued his guidance. Coach Johnson will always be a part of who I am as a coach, and I carry his influence with me every day. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched-including mine. - Andrew King, Wren head track and field coach, assistant cross country coach
