SPARTANBURG -- Dorman boys and Spartanburg girls won the Viking Relays team competitions at the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. Spartanburg finished second for the boys and Mauldin second for the girls.
Dreher sophomore Brandon Sanders tied the national leading 100-meter dash mark with a hand-timed 10.2, converted to 10.44. Watch the race.
"We wanted to see where he was and he really let us know!!!," said Dreher coach Daniel Brooks. "Now we have to load him back up.
"The testing we use indicated he should go fast, but I didn't know how fast because today was his first 100 of the season," said Brooks. "He was very pleased with his time knowing it was the first 100. He gave his thanks above ran over to his dad, teammates, and coaches. He of course asked what did I have him at?"
