Former Northwestern Trojan Greeley Earns All-ACC Honors Friday

Mitch Greeley, a freshman at Clemson University earned All-ACC honors in the pole vault for the Tigers with a second place vault of 16\'4.75\" at the ACC Championships in Durham, N.C.

Greeley, a former pole vault athlete at Northwestern HS is a three-time South Carolina 4A state champion in the pole vault and state record holder in the event (16\'9\").

Greeley was named 2004 South Carolina Gatorade Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year.

The Tigers are in first place after the second day of competition, with 58 points to defending champion Florida State (40 points).

George Kitchens (Long Jump) and Itay Magidi (5000 meters) earned individual victories for the Tigers. Senior Derrick Wyatt (Liberty HS) finished second in the 5000 for Clemson.

The ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships will conclude Saturday with the finals of the 60m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 3000m run, 60m hurdles, 4x400m relay, high jump, shot put and triple jump.
