Young Sisters Win Pole Vault In Weekend Action

Sara Young, a sophomore at Clemson cleared 12\'5.5\" Friday night, winning the event, with the Rock Norman track and field complex becoming lit by the moon and car headlights, according to clemsontigers.com at the Clemson Relays.

Young\'s vault qualifies the former Thornwell vaulter for the NCAA Regionals, that is scheduled for May 27-28 at Manhattan College.

Young\'s, sister, Claire, a seventh grade athlete at Thornwell HS finished first in the Coaches Classic pole vault the following day with a best height of 10\'6\". Liza Todd of Dreher finished second in the girls pole vault.
