scrunners: How did your race unfold at Coaches Classic?
whitmire: I hit the first mile right on pace and in 16th place. I slowed down just a little bit the 2nd mile but coming off the hill I had moved into 6th place. My boyfriend Justin really got on my tail here and the last mile I started working my way up to the leader and caught her coming up the hill towards the end. From there it was everything I had left and I wasn't willing to lose.
scrunners: What did it feel like to win the individual title?
whitmire: Nothing had ever hurt worse haha. But it was absolutely amazing knowing I had given everything. The girls in that race were great runners and finishing first is one of my greatest accomplishments to date.
