WATCH: Luke Hurley Runs 3200m All-Time S.C. Best

Boiling Springs senior Luke Hurley ran a South Carolina all-time boys 3200-meter best of 8 minutes, 51.97 seconds for fourth in the ASICS Carolina Distance Carnival high school boys event Friday night in Matthews, North Carolina. See the splits and more history below.

Wren's Ernie Shepard ran 8:56 to win the 1988 SCHSL AAA State Track and Field Championship - also a state track and field record - the top time before MileSplit SC rankings.

"It feels kind of surreal," Hurley told MileSplit SC. After months of hard training I had to trust my body that I was among the best."

Watch day two of the ASICS Distance Carnival live - starts at 1 p.m.
