Greeley, Nesbitt Qualify for Pan American Junior Championships

Clemson Tiger freshman Mitch Greeley (Northwestern HS) finished second in the Junior Men\'s Pole Vault following a best vault of 16-08.75 at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Carson, Calif.

Michael Morrison (Chesapeake) won the event following a judge\'s decision.

Greeley holds the South Carolina High School State Meet pole vault record of 16-09. Greeley\'s second place finish qualifies him for the 2005 Pan American Junior Championships that is slated for July 28-31 in Windsor, Ontario.

JL Mann alumna Amberly Nesbitt (South Carolina) also qualified for the 2005 Pan American Junior Championships with a second place finish in the junior women\'s 100 event. Nesbitt crossed the line in 11.67.

South Carolina graduate Terrence Trammell (2000) ran the fastest 110-meter hurdles preliminary time of 13.37. The semi-finals is slated for 6:05 p.m. (PST) Friday.

Spring Valley graduate Monique Hennagan (1994) was second in the 400-meter dash preliminaries in 51.80. Also qualifying for the 400 open semi-finals was South Carolina\'s Stephanie Smith. The semi-finals is slated for 7 p.m. (PST) Friday.
