Hanna signings
Thela Woodring, left, and Stephen Dickey, right signed NLI's Nov. 9. The early signing period started Nov. 9 and ends Nov. 16.
Hanna senior cross country athletes Stephen Dickey and Thela Woodring signed National Letter of Intent's last Wed. in the Hanna library.

Dickey will continue his running career at The Citadel while Woodring will compete for UAB.

Dickey finished 44th at the 2005 Class 4A state meet.

"I decided to attend the Citadel because the school has great tradition and I really like the team," said Dickey. "Other places I visited were, Lees-McRae, Charleston Southern and The College of Charleston. I plan on studying Political Science and hoping to become a whole man in the process of going to school there. Athletically, I would like to make all-conference and maybe break some records."

Woodring finished 10th at the 2005 Class 4A state meet.

Prior to choosing UAB, Woodring made visits to Clemson, UGA, Anderson College, Auburn and Colgate.

"What made me choose UAB, was I felt that their program best fit my goals in cross country and track," said Woodring. "At UAB my major will be in Biology.

When I graduate I will either attend UGA or Auburn to recieve a degree in Veterinary Science."

Woodring is running in Footlocker South Nov. 26 in Charlotte.

The Citadel is a member of the Southern Conference. UAB is a Conference USA member.

Mauldin High's Lauren Klas has agreed to run for Clemson.

The early signing period started Nov. 9 and continues through Nov. 16.
