Wando alumni distance runner Tim Tyler knew Clemson University was his top choice - where his dad attended - after his second official visit to a college.
"My dad graduated from Clemson so I've grown up being a Clemson fan, attending many of the basketball and football games over the years," said Tyler. "Clemson was my second official visit and immediately became my first choice."
Tyler chose Clemson in part because of distance coach Brad Herbster and his drive to turn the program into one of the top teams in the Atlantic Coast Conference and country, he said.
Tyler added, "All the runners were really cool and I had a good time hanging out and getting to know them. I also liked the campus and track facilities. Everything is so close and it is easy to get around. The outdoor track has just been resurfaced and the indoor facility is one of the best in the country."
