Bluffton High School Athletic Department is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable and positive Assistant Track & Field Coach for the upcoming season. This is a stipend-based position focusing on the technical development and mentorship of our Sprints or Jumps athletes.
Key Responsibilities • Technical Coaching: Lead daily event-specific practices for sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers. • Skill Development: Teach block starts, acceleration mechanics, runway approaches, and safe landing techniques. • Meet Supervision: Attend all weekday and weekend meets to coach athletes, manage warm-ups, and ensure safety. • Mentorship: Support the head coach in fostering sportsmanship, academic accountability, and team unity. Required Qualifications • Experience: Previous coaching or competitive track and field experience at the high school or collegiate level. • Clearances: Must pass a school district background check and fingerprinting. • Certifications: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification, plus mandatory state high school athletic association courses. • Schedule: Availability for practices (typically 4:10 -6 p.m.) and scheduled track meets.
