Lake Wales Sprinter Hadley Headed To Clemson

Lake Wale's senior Sabria Hadley has ended her college recruitment. Hadley has been a standout for Lake Wales over the past two years. As a sophomore she was a member of the gold medal winning 4x100 relay. As a junior, she won the 200 meter dash and anchored the runner-up 4x100 team. Recently, she announced that she will be attending Clemson University to be a Tiger and continue her running career.

What was the recruiting process like for you?

It was far beyond my expectations.

What schools did you visit?

I visited the University of Miami and Clemson University. However I had scheduled visits to UCF and University of North Carolina, but didn't end up going there.

Why did you ultimately choose Clemson?

I felt Clemson is where I belonged. I was at peace with my decision. The success rate there is amazing.

Now that you picked Clemson are you done looking at schools and will you help recruit other girls to go there or are you going to leave that to the coaches?

I am officially done with my recruiting process and looking at other schools.  I am going to leave that to the coaches. By what I have seen so far from the school the academic and athletic programs are top notch. I would love for someone else to experience this with me.

How important is it for you to get this out of the way so you can focus on your senior year?

Very important. I am glad I’ve chosen where I want to go so that I can focus on my senior year of high school. Now that I have chosen Clemson University I can focus on improving my times on the track.

What are you looking forward to the most about being a Tiger?

I am looking forward to training with a group of nationally ranked girls and training with the coaches (Coach Hall and Coach Johnson).

It’s your senior year at Lake Wales. What are goals for this year and beyond?

My goals are to repeat as state champion in the (200) and lower my times (11.5) 100 meters and (23.5) 200 meters. After leaving Clemson I would love to run professionally and be sponsored by Nike.

Do you have anything else you would like to add?

Track is not something I chose, but it chose me. By GOD’S grace and mercy I’ve made it this far.
