2021 Region 8-5A Track and Field Championships

Dates: Wednesday - Thursday May 5 - 6, 2021

Time: 5:00pm-Each Day

Location: West Ashley High School

Entry Fee: $150.00 (Payable to West Ashley High School)-Fee will assist with paying for timing company.

1. Coaches you can enter 4 athletes in each event and 1 relay team per school. Meet entry is being done on SCRunners. Live results will also be posted/available during the meet

2. The meet will open tomorrow 4/28/2021 and the entry deadline for the Region meet will be Tuesday, May 4th at 12:00pm. Once that time passes, no changes can or will be made.

3. LJ, TJ, SP, Discus and Javelin each competitor will get 3 attempts and then the top 7 will get 3 additional Jumps/Throws in the event final.

4. Implements will be weighed in prior to the start of day 1. a. Girls Shot-4kg/8.8lbs b. Boys Shot-12lbs c. Girls Disc-1kg d. Boys Disc-1.6kg e. Girls Javelin-600g f. Boys Javelin-800g

5. Opening Heights will be 6ft/8ft in PV and 40/50 in HJ

6. Qualifying from the Prelims to the event finals will be the 8 fastest runners/times regardless of the heat they run in. Heat winners will not automatically qualify.

7. We will be scoring the Top 6 places 10,8,6,4,2,1

8. Top 4 placers will qualify for the 5A State Qualifier to be held on Saturday, May 15th at Spring Valley High School in Columbia.
