Northwestern Scrimmage 2023

UPDATE 8/14/23: Coaches, we are monitoring the weather for the meet tomorrow. The plan is to run the scrimmage but push the start time back to 5:30 or 6pm as it looks like the Wet Bulb Temp will allow us to run at that time. In addition, we have the course marked for a 3200 so we can easily turn this into a 2 mile meet if needed. As long as the storms hold off, the plan is to run. Thanks for your understanding.   

This meet will be held at Northwestern High School. We are asking teams to register through SCRunners so we know which teams are attending and to see if we have interest in the 3200. The 3200 will be run on a modified version of our XC course. Essentially, we will be taking out most of the second mile of the course. Since coaches are timing their own athletes, it is ok if you add athletes on race day. 

This is a very informal scrimmage to give new athletes a chance to see what a XC meet is like and for experienced athletes to get a chance to see where they stand. This is free to attend, there will be no entry fee for teams or for spectators. We will try to have limited concessions, but this will depend on the turnout. We will have a finish line clock but do not plan on scoring the meet or recording times. As this is an early season meet, we are not enforcing the uniform rule.

The course is located at Northwestern HS on Highway 5 (Main Street) in Rock Hill, SC. It starts on campus at Northwestern and covers two other school campuses that are located on both sides of the school. It is an open course that is very viewer friendly. Buses will be parked in the F gym parking, which is located on the Applied Technology Center side of the school.
