DDC IS CANCELED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER...
SEE YOU IN 2026.
Welcome to the 2025 Dorman Distance Carnival, which has turned into the "go to" early outdoor meet for distance runners in SC, NC, GA, and beyond!
This year's 10th edition of our event, promises to be our best and most competitive year!
We have added an Elite 400 and an Elite 3200 in addition to our Elite 800 and Elite Mile events.
We have reached capacity for teams; however, we are accepting "elite" level individuals for the Elite races.
Once again we are partnering with Run-In specialty store, in conjunction with Nike, as our main sponsor of this years event. Run-In will be on site with a mobile shop...please stop by and thank them for getting behind high school running and consider a purchase. Additionally, we have RSN Promotions and Urban Announcing as sponsors.
Order of Events:
National Anthem
Recognition of 2004 Dorman Girls XC State Championship
Alumni & Community Mile Run
Elite 3200m Run(Top 20 qualified athletes)
3200m Run
400m Dash
Elite 400m Dash(Top 6 qualified athletes)
800m Run
Elite 800m (Top 12 qualified athletes)
Middle School Mile Run (Grades 7 & 8 only)
Freshman Mile Run (Grade 9 only)
High School Mile Run
Elite Mile Run (Top 16 qualified athletes)
All races will be girls followed by boys. Please note the order of events...all Elite races, except the 3200, will follow the regular high school event. For example, in the mile, we will run MS girls followed by MS boys, then Freshman girls followed by boys, then the HS girls followed by boys, with intros of the Girls Elite Mile before their race, then intros for the Boys Elite Mile after the girls conclude.
Elite Events Qualifying:
Coaches...athletes in the Elite Events will come from the top entries, with verifiable times in MileSplit from the 24 outdoor or 25 indoor seasons. Made up or estimated times will be rejected for the Elite races.
Please don't request to use time trials, runs on Strava, etc. to qualify for these events.
* Coaches can petition meet management for an athletes consideration if for some reason they dont have a verifiable time in MileSplit but have other credentials for consideration. *
Elite event entrants can enter "unattached" if their team is not attending. However, we ask that those runners obtain permission from their coach before entering.
All of our mile races will be a true mile, not a 1600.
Time Schedule:
The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am; a final time schedule will be posted once the meet is seeded. However, the time schedule is subject to change based on the number of entries for the meet as well as weather conditions. Once a time schedule is established, we will start events up to 10 minutes early, if we are able to...we will not start an event any earlier than that. We run a very efficient meet and we are usually right about on schedule. Be aware that some of the "slower" heats could have a lot of entries.
Entry Deadline:
The entry deadline for scheduled teams is Feb. 12 at noon!
Entry Limits (per gender):
400 (2)
800 (3)
MS Mile (2)
Frosh Mile (2)
HS Mile (3)
3200 (3)
*Elite races will basically be the "fast" heat in each event.
Fees:
There is no team entry fee.
There will be an admission fee for all spectators and any athletes arriving without their team will need to pay admission
Additional Meet Info:
This meet is a "scrimmage", therefore it does not count as one of your pre-season invitationals.
School uniforms are not required so if you have not handed out uniforms prior to this meet it is perfectly fine. Our meet is low-key, but a highly competitive season opener...it's a lot of fun!
Numbers & Packets:
All athletes, except 400m competitors, will be assigned a race number. They should be pinned to the front of your singlet and clearly visible.
Team packets will have numbers and it will be the responsibility of the coach to hand out numbers to your athletes. Coaches will pick up packets from the timing tent. Unattached competitors (unless a 400m entry) must also pick up their race number from the timing tent on the infield.
Spike Length:
Only 1/4" pyramid spikes allowed. We will have a procedure to check length.
Facilities:
Brand new 8-lane Mondo track...we will also be adding some portable restrooms to accommodate the large number of competing athletes.
Due to facility limitations, we will cap the maximum number of total entries in each event. This number will vary for each event but numbers were based on last year's entries. Get your entries in early.
Concessions & T-Shirt Sales:
A fully stocked concession stand will be available. DDC meet t-shirts will be for sale. Please consider supporting and promoting these sales as it helps offset no team entry fee!
