The Lights Out Invitational is FULL for 2026! However, if you would like to add your team to the waiting list for the meet, you can do so by clicking here and completing the form. If a registered team drops out, new teams will be added to the meet in the order in which they completed the waiting list form.
Blythewood High is excited to host the Lights Out Invitational- the first under-the-lights cross country invitational in the Midlands!
Entries are limited to the first 15 teams. For the first year of the Lights Out Invite, the field size is capped so we can ensure a top notch experience for every runner in every race.
The first race will take place at 7:00 PM- after the sun goes down- to ensure every runner gets the opportunity to experience night racing. The course is located on the Blythewood High campus (10901 Wilson Boulevard, Blythewood) and consists of two large loops through the school's athletic practice and competition fields. Less than 700 meters of the race is on a track surface. The course is flat and promises to be fast- especially with the cooler nighttime temperatures!
Race Schedule
- JV Girls- 7:00 PM
- JV Boys- 7:45 PM
- Varsity Girls (up to 10 entries)- 8:25 PM
- Varsity Boys (up to 10 entries)- 9:00 PM
Entry fee is $90 for a team ($170 for girls and boys teams from same school). Participation is open to runners in grades 7-12 (6th grade allowed for SCISA member schools). All runners must participate as part of a team.

Awards
- JV- Top 10 individuals (boys and girls)
- Varsity- Top 15 individuals (boys and girls), Top 2 teams (boys and girls)
Admission
No parking fee. Spectator admission fee of $5 per individual. No fee for athletes or coaches. Admission can be paid at gate in cash (exact change preferred) or purchased in advance through HomeTown (link to purchase tickets will be linked here and sent to coaches at least two weeks prior to race day).
