SCTCCCA XC summer meeting: State course practice update

The Sandhills Research Center cross country course has changed, it was announced during the SCTCCCA summer cross country meeting.

State course and qualifier update (via SCHSL.org): No school will be allowed to practice on the course where the State Meet takes place (except the day of) unless it is a school’s home course. (Passed 11-13-14 by Executive Committee). Go to page 38 at this link. Past rule (page 38) - No school will be allowed to practice on the course where the state series meets takes place unless it is a school’s home course. Teams may walk the course.

The proposal that will be made by coaches going forward is to remove the rule.

The state course update was made without input from the coaches, athletic directors or principals, scrunners has learned. Check back from more updates.

Classification assignments will be announced next week from when the SCHSL announced five classifications.

Schedule changes due to adding of five classifications of state meets will be announced as made available. The SCTCCCA is working to develop committees to establish rules with five classes. Most of this development will occur during the winter meeting in January.
