Interview with Eastside Senior David Vass

SCRUNNERS.com: What are your goals for the season?

Vass: My goals are to run under 16:30 at state. I also am achieving to attain all county, all-region, and all-state status.

SCRUNNERS.com: What are your plans for after you graduate?

Vass: I am going to college to study sports medicine (athletic training).

SCRUNNERS.com: What was your most memorable event in cross-county?

Vass: Placing 5th at state during my junior year.

SCRUNNERS.com: Who do you admire the most?

Vass: My parents.

SCRUNNERS.com: What was your training like this summer?

Vass: I started out doing around 50 miles, and then I got slack and slowly dwindled down. It did not go as I expected. Things are better now and I am taking one race at a time.

SCRUNNERS.com: What is your favorite workout?

Vass: My favorite workout for track is 12x400s and 4x1 mile repeats for cross-county.

SCRUNNERS.com: Where is your favorite place to run?

Vass: The mountains.

SCRUNNERS.com: What is your favorite meet?

Vass: Wendy's Invitational at McAlpine Park in Charlotte, N.C.

SCRUNNERS.com: What is one thing out of the ordinary that you would like to do?

Vass: Visit Kenya.
