    South Carolina coaches, athletes, and spectators are going to be busy this weekend with four in state meets and one out of state meet. The Great American Festival is set to be held in Cary, NC on Friday and Saturday.

  • South Carolina runners to make presence at Great American

    The Great American Cross-Country festival is scheduled to take place for the fifth year starting on Friday, Sept. 26 and will finish on September 27 at SAS Soccer Park in Cary, NC. Since its inaugural start in 1999 at McAlpine Park, home of Wendy\'s Invitational, the course stayed at McAlpine during the flood in 2000.

  • 2002 Fastest Freshman Chris Scanlon

    Chris Scanlon is a sophomore at Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville. The Ram finished with the fastest time for freshmen at the 2002 State Cross-Country Championships at Sandills Research Center in Columbia.

  • Generals solid at Crooked Creek Park

    The 2003 Lake Murray Invitational took place on Saturday, Sept. 20 in Chapin at Crooked Creek Recreational Park. The event conisted of a junior varsity girl\'s race at 8:30 a.m., a junior varsity boy\'s race at 9:15 a.m., the varsity girl\'s race at 10 a.m., and competition concluded with the varsity boy\'s race at 10:45 a.m. Awards followed at 11:30 a.m.

  • Eye Opener's twentieth year brings fast times

    The Eye Opener kicked off its 20th year in existence on Saturday at the Milliken Plant in Spartanburg with the women's collegiate 5k. The first Eye Opener took place in 1983 at The South Carolina School for The Deaf and Blind in Spartanburg. The event moved to Milliken in 2000 and has attracted high school and collegiate runners from Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Cool weather brought record breaking times in Spartanburg on Saturday.

  • Eye Opener set for Saturday

    The 2003 Eye Opener is set to take place this Saturday in Spartanburg. The event, hosted at the Milliken Plant by The South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind (SCSDB) along with the help of race coordinator Jack Todd, includes high school and collegiate races.
