Nicosia, Pegues Win PV Titles


Pole vault athletes Jaquon Pegues (Cheraw HS) and Allison Nicosia (South Aiken HS) captured individual titles in their respective intermediate events.

Peques finished second in the class 2A pole vault at the state meet in May.

Nicosia finished second in the class 4A pole vault at the state meet in May, based on a judges decision.

Stowers First In 100 Hurdles
Jasmine Stowers (Pendleton HS) finished first in the intermediate girls 100-meter hurdles (14.05). Stowers placed third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.18).

Brookins Second In 100
Seneca rising senior LaKya Brookins finished second overall in the young women\'s 100-meter dash at the USATF Youth Championships Sunday.

Brookins finished with a time of 11.65. Shayla Mahan was first in 11.63. Brookins was also second in the preliminaries in 11.62.

Nash Third in 110 Hurdles
Dorman graduate Christian Nash finished third in the young men\'s 110-meter hurdles in 14.46. Nash ran a 14.44 in the preliminaries, good for a top six qualifying time.
