Coach J was an awesome man. He got me back into coaching in 1997. I was with Calvin when we had a tragic event at Northwestern. Coach J stepped in and pulled us all through it. He was a tremendous motivator, teacher, mentor and friend. He was always willing to help others. Just recently, he and I had talked about some artwork he wanted to auction off for the Yellow Mountain fundraiser.
I will dearly miss him. He was family.
