Burke alumna Raven Saunders finished fifth in the finals Friday night after advancing to the Olympic finals in shot put.
Saunders' personal best is now 63 feet, 5.75 inches.
Saunders posted this on her instagram account:"May not be top 3 but 5th ain't bad for a first timer. These past 365 I have faced many big changes. They say what didn't kill you makes you stronger and I believe that's how I got to this point. Thanks for all the support this season."
