Ridge View Track and Field Returns to Penn Relays Carnival

Ridge View boys track and field coach Charles Proctor talks with scrunners prior to their trip to The 2023 Penn Relays Carnival, presented by Toyota.

The Blazers, returning for the second time, are traveling alongside the girls team - a first for the girls to compete at three-day Philadelphia meet. The meet is from April 27 to April 29.

Read what he says below prior to leaving for the competition.

"I am honored to announce that the Ridge View high school's track and field team has been accepted to compete at the annual Penn Relays Carnival for the second year in a row. The boys and girls team will compete in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. This will be the first trip to the Penn Relays for Coach (Warren) Eure and the RV girls. Last season the RV boys 4x100 qualified for the National division final and have hopes of competing in the Championship of America final this year. The Penn Relays is always a first class event with the highest level of competition. We look forward to competing against some of the best high school athletes in the world. I truly believe this meet gets us mentally prepared to handle the rigors of our State Championship series." -  Charles Proctor
