SCTCCCA All-State Track and Field Team Announced

The following notes were included

Matt Oberly led Spring Valley to another stellar season, overcoming significant challenges including injuries to key athletes. Despite losing seniors from 2023, Oberly's team rallied, with returning athletes stepping up and younger members being skillfully developed to fill the gaps. The team's resilience was rewarded with victories at the Low Country Invitational,
Clash of the Carolinas, Golden Corner Invitational and the Region 3-5A, SCHSL 5A Upper State, and SCHSL AAAAA State Championships.

Oberly's leadership and strategic focus on team culture and individual development were pivotal in their success. His dedication is evident in his role as SCTCCCA President and meet director for several major events (All American Track Classic). His athletes appreciate his passion, inclusivity and personal attention, which have been crucial in building a cohesive and successful team.

Chris White guided his team to a fourth consecutive SCHSL AAA state championship, overcoming challenges such as injuries and a lack of depth. Despite losing the region title for the first time since 2019, White's team excelled in high-level competitions, including a strong showing at the Clash of the Carolinas, the Archer Invitational and the Golden Corner Invitational.

Under White's leadership, the program has flourished, winning six region titles and producing 17 individual state champions. His commitment to consistency, development of JV talent, and support from excellent assistant coaches have been crucial to sustained success. Additionally, White's contributions to the sport include hosting major meets and assisting with state advancement processes, demonstrating his dedication to the broader track and field community.
