MileSplit SC Future Stars: Eastside Eagles' Watson Pruden

MileSplit South Carolina features Eastside cross country runner Watson Pruden (class of 2029) in this week's boys cross country Future Stars.

Pruden, a two-sport student-athlete, has goals outside of distance running to obtain a pilots license, his coach Audrey Cook told MileSplit South Carolina.

"Watson has made a quick impact on our team as a quiet leader, setting the example by his consistant work ethic and dedication. He encourages his teammates and is showing signs of an excellent leader as just a freshman. Myself, along with coach (Steven) Pearce are excited to see how the last month of his season goes." - Audrey Cook

Pruden is ranked eight in the class of 2029 boys cross rankings in South Carolina.

In his first season, the freshman ran a personal best in his year of cross country 16:26 at the Woodmont Invitational (30th).

Most recently, Pruden finished 62nd in the Bob Jenkins SCTCCCA Coaches Classic with a 17:10 5K in the International Boys.

Next up for the Eagles is the Region 2-5A Championships and Ed Boehmke Greenville County Cross Country Championships.

Pruden's Woodmont Invitational finish makes him the third runner for the Eagles this cross country season.
