This Week's Nominees:
Marquisha Sturdivant, Chapman (South Carolina): Cleared a state-leading 5-11.5 to win the high jump at the Landrum Home Meet #1. The sophomore broke her PR of 5-3, improving by 8.5 inches to claim the top mark in South Carolina.
Peyton Hightower, Blythewood (South Carolina): Won the 400 meters in 54.53 at the Diamond Hornets Invitational, defeating a field of 73 runners. The state's top-ranked 400 runner posted her second-fastest time of the season.
Jhnai Sumter, Lower Richland (South Carolina): Dominated the throws at the Diamond Hornets Invitational with a state-leading shot put of 45-0.5, breaking her PR of 41-0. She also threw 125-7 in the discus for the #2 mark in South Carolina and added a 112-4.25 javelin for second place.
Addison Bush, Silver Bluff (South Carolina): Clocked 11.79 to win the 100 meters at the Aiken Meet #1, posting a massive PR after improving from 13.42. The freshman ran the fastest time among this week's competitors with a 1.63-second improvement.
Callie McGready, Central (South Carolina): Posted a state-leading 2:10.75 to win the 800 meters at the Chesterfield Meet #1. Her PR performance puts her atop the South Carolina rankings in the event.
Ella Nighbor, Clover (South Carolina): Won the Clash of the Carolina's 1600-meter run with a S.C. no. 1, U.S. no. 12 4:58.29 personal best.
